The ground-attack one is just for show, and you have the water-mobile unit. There’s nothing really special about these three types of vehicles. They’re all just the same thing. It doesn’t matter what model they use, just keep that look up – a lot of work goes into maintaining that. Some vehicles are just plain boring. That’s why there’s different options for the different vehicles.
“This is a much-improved engine, so the way the vehicle moves, the engine makes a lot of the calculations more specific to these systems. It helps us to create the look and feel of that vehicle and to make it seem very, very real. If you look at a lot of the vehicles that use an AI system, they make all these calculations that can’t be done in real time, so they have to be done on computer simulations. If you use the same kind of vehicle as one of the vehicles using a real engine, it can feel really alien. The way we have to simulate these engine computations can create quite a bit of complexity and we try to make the most of it.
“We’re very focused on using the newest technology to ensure that the vehicle, when I talk about it, is really authentic. Everything is going for it. Sometimes that’s a struggle, too. I wish we had the resources to use the real engines in that situation. We’re not in a position where we can put a lot of effort into that. You can make a tank feel realistic — if you have really, really cool textures, an amazing visual system, and the AI is really good — then it can feel really good on paper. There’s not a lot of places in the game and in the game itself that will require an engine like that to create something that’s not believable.
“There is one part of the game that uses a lot of the older technologies too. When we talk about the tank engine, we have tanks that had tanks that had computers — but
