Not necessarily, since this is just your first day on the job. You need to apply for the certification course (in English and Spanish), complete the application form and you won’t have to wait for a response – only your teacher could grant you access for the project. Some states, in fact, require you to submit one or more application forms. You might also want to take a few test tests if you plan to take the test multiple times.
How do I get the certificate?
The Certificate of Training is issued by the Professional Educators in Education (PERMEA). The PERMEA (the organization for teaching education) certifies teachers with education licensure for the purpose of teaching Spanish courses and language courses of a college-level or higher. After receiving the Certificate, you will be issued a certificate of qualification titled:
PERMEA CERTIFICATION FOR TEACHING EXCEPTIONAL LEVELS (CERTIGRAPAC).
How can I get the Certificate of Training?
You may apply for the Certificate of Training by completing the following three steps:
Step 1 – Apply for the certification course (English and Spanish) (You could do this after the course is taken in the fall semester; for more information on how to apply for the course with the Permea, click here).
Step 2 – Complete the certificate of training form.
Step 3- Submit a transcript of your certification test scores.
I already have a Permea credential, what do I do with it?

What happens if the Permea certificate expires?
The Permea’s certificate is good at its end date, not the start date. It is good for the whole semester, but you will need to re-apply for a new certificate during the fall semester.
What happens if I fail the course?
If you fail the test, you will not be eligible to take the certification course. The Permea has a system for assessing academic performance – for instance, at exam and for the course certificate.
The student should apply for the course again. The students must be able to pass the certification exam. In the event that the student fails a test, the Permea certificate will be cancelled. However, the certificate is a proof of academic performance, and the student can keep the certification by filing a request with the PERME
