Is 19 too old to learn guitar? – Learn To Play Guitar Online Free

The answer is, probably.

While you can get some pretty good training at around 9 and 10-years-old, your brain starts growing at around 10-years-old and remains at that age throughout life (at least in the first few years of life).

And as it grows and the structure in the brain changes, the learning capacity tends to go up as well.

It used to be something like 70% of brains were fully formed by 3.9 years old. But by the end of the 20th year, it would’ve only be up to 40% (and would’ve actually declined somewhat during the age of puberty).

You can learn more about why this happens here:

If you’re at the age where your brain already started growing, then you may be able to learn the instrument pretty quickly.

I don’t recommend it though.

I actually recommend to not learn new instrument. It won’t get better from there, it’s just pointless.

I learned violin at 17 and the guitar at 18.

I learnt acoustic guitar and piano at 18 and 19 respectively. These days I play in a band called “Jolly Roger” and have a band called “Throbber”.

I have been touring in the last 2 years and have been playing almost non-stop since April 2014. If you’re interested, read my review of the violin at the beginning of this post.

However, if you’re one of those people who have grown up playing the instrument and never really learned the skill, you might be able to learn it a little quicker.

I did get a guitar from my mom that I couldn’t get at school.

She taught me the basics.

But she started to teach me to play the more advanced parts and when I had learnt it all, she used to bring my mom to visit me so that I wouldn’t forget it when we went out.

But she stopped after a few weeks.

Now I’ve become a member of a club that allows new members to practise their skills.

But you can read other reviews about the guitar here:

Another very important thing to notice is the fact that learning a new instrument means you can’t just play it once.

It requires a lot of thinking and planning and practice so I’d advise you to put time into learning it.

And don’t forget about it every day after school during the day.
