This book was written by Dr. Edward Feltman of Baylor Medical Center, Houston, Texas and Dr. Frank J. Mankoc of the National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, Maryland; Dr. Feltman’s affiliation is with the Institute for Clinical Science and Research. Dr. Mankoc has been working at Baylor Medical Center from 1984 to 1998, providing molecular genetic and epidemiological studies of breast cancer. Dr. Feltman has collaborated with the American Cancer Society Research Program and has been one of more than 500 authors on over 15,000 reports of randomized controlled trials of drugs and other interventions that have been published during his nearly 25 year long career at Baylor. He holds several doctoral and physicianate degree. Dr. Feltman has been awarded several awards for science, including:

The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld the constitutionality of a law in Louisiana that bans people convicted of sex crimes from marrying their attacker.
On Monday it heard arguments in a appeal from an Algiers man who was convicted of rape after meeting the victim at a party. One of his co-defendants later said they had met and started a relationship after the party, after which the man gave the woman money so they could go out and have sex.
Judge Freda Wolfson ruled that the law was constitutional and that the man cannot marry his victim because of his victim’s conviction.
Wolfson found the man’s case unlikely to succeed on its facts alone because the woman’s identity wasn’t in doubt and the man had to be convicted of sex crimes to win the right to marry.
She said the man would have to show a pattern of rape or sexual abuse on which he could rely.
