Can you be a self taught artist? – Thrive Art School

No, but if you can learn to draw from a book, then I don’t want you to be a self taught artist.

That’s the difference. A self taught artist is like a beginner. A beginner doesn’t know where to go but goes in because he enjoys the process. But a painter comes into the studio with his painting books. When he sees the artist’s paintings, he doesn’t know how to make them look good. He uses a brush and colors and just goes with it. A self taught artist follows the process. The better he gets at drawing the more he learns to do

It’s important to always find the path of least resistance and start there. The more time and energy you put into learning how to draw and painting, the better you’ll get at it. When I was struggling with learning how to draw and paint I had to learn to put my energy into the process. I’d go into the studio and draw whatever I wanted to. It was really not important if I couldn’t get it right. I thought about why I wasn’t drawing, why I wasn’t understanding it. I would just sit there drawing until I could understand it better or I just quit. I really felt like I had to learn this. I was trying to learn how to paint in the same way.

I’ve been making a lot of All-Natural products over the
