It’s not like a big, abstract drawing. Your brush head is much more in the game.
Can the painting be sped up?
We really haven’t looked into it yet. For now we’re not planning to speed up the painting experience.
How many levels will there be?
It’s going to be about as much as we can get away with. Even in terms of a campaign at this point we haven’t decided yet if we are going to increase it from two to three levels, although we are in discussion with the people that are playing our games.
When it comes to the art style, will players be able to create artworks from various themes?
Yeah. We really want to support the creativity of our players. We want to be able to give them options on how they design their own worlds. We want to be able to give them the ability to draw on that.
If players want to create themes for their paintings, how can they do that? Is it as simple as putting some elements together?
It’s a combination of art styles. We’re going to give them the freedom to create whatever they want, that’s for sure. It may be a bit more complex in the sense that we try to give them the right style to make it look believable.
When it comes to different environments, which areas will they be on?
They will be placed in areas of the world that we think we’ll be able to see from a distance. We want players to be able to see where a painting comes from.
What other tools are there in Unity3D to help you make it look natural and believable?
We’ve created an environment designer tool that allows you make environments. This tool allows you to create different areas and how to blend it all. We know that it’s a bit more complex to get a realistic look from a static 3D painting, so we want this environment maker tool to allow you to mix and match the different elements so that it looks right.
What else are you working on?
Unity3D is a really powerful thing for us, and we are really happy to be able to continue working with it long term.
