We started to dance at a place called the “Dancer’s Place” in Los Angelos, just an hour from me. The dancers here are super pretty and are super talented. Most of them have been teaching since middle school. I have to say, those girls are really good at what they do.
You just finished playing the bass sax solo for a full band with your best friend John, who you met in high school, in Los Angeles. How’d you start playing bass? Where did that band come from?
I was in high school, so I played sports and did a lot of things on the weekends. I think it was just a natural transition and my friend introduced me to the bass. I had always been a music lover of some sort and I had all my friends and my family in rock bands so I thought I might be an artist in the making. One day, I was playing in a band with another friend and we were recording some demo tapes… I thought if I play bass, then I can do something with music that I love. A lot of bands just used to play, but we could play music together so I decided to go back to my roots, which was bass.
How did you decide to get married?
It was a little over a year ago, and I was on the verge of getting married. My wife and I just got home from work at night and I was like, “Wow, this is a really long wait and I really can’t wait,” and she was like, “It’s okay. You’ll have time at the altar. You don’t really get to experience it all, I promise.” We went to our best friend’s wedding a few months later. It was one of those days when you’re all just standing around, you know, doing nothing and you’re kind of like, “Oh, no, can’t wait.” Then we got to it at the end and it was amazing but I got there at midnight and it was very late by then and I just went to bed. The next day, my wife and I went to the wedding. It was really cool, a couple of friends from school dressed up, we drove off to the wedding and were waiting for them, like, four days later, because my phone had died. I got word that my aunt, my sister-in-law’s sister, had gotten married, and my sister-in-law had gotten married. The next day we just rushed out
