“Dancing is the foundation for all our relationships, and it’s very important to me and my brother,” she said. “I’ve heard that it’s good for the bones, too.”
It’s important for our kids, for our society to be more aware of their own personal beauty and health, she said. “A lot of people are afraid of what the future will look like for them. It’s important for us to be able to be proud of who we are.”
Her brother and sister-in-law are also a key part of her life.
“They’ve been my biggest fans since birth,” she said. “They love that they’re able to share my love of dancing with their kids.”
A former dancer at the Children’s Dance Theatre in St. Paul, she said she plans to get a dance studio up and running in Minneapolis next fall, with the goal of starting a professional career in the industry. Her sister and brother-in-law already have started the organization.

When asked what it will take for her to go back to dancing, she said, “I think dancing is an expression of beauty and strength. It’s just not something you can take on when you have children. But it is the right fit for my life.”
A life in Minneapolis is an exciting life experience, she said.
While her goal is to open a dance studio someday, she’s not sure where she’ll be going. She wants to “be able to dance to my heart’s content,” she said, adding that she won’t need to go to many parties.
“If you are out on the town and you see a beautiful woman dancing, you just want to shake her hand and say: ‘Dance with me!'” she said.
