“You get caught up in the system, and when you stop trading, you have a tremendous amount of money going out of you,” said Martin Faucher, a senior analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence in New York. “This guy is going to put $6 billion, if you will, in his account. Now he just wants to buy stocks.”
The SEC’s complaint also revealed how much Mr. Buffett had invested in Goldman Sachs Group Inc. in 2009. For the full year, the SEC says, Mr. Buffett spent a total of $1.4 billion on his money managers — a total nearly $6 billion less than the $5.1 billion he’d invested in Goldman. Among other things, the complaint alleges that, if the shares had not held the initial price of just over $26, then Mr. Buffett would have lost all of his money by the time the SEC closed its probe — a huge drop in the value of his investments.

The complaint also alleged that Mr. Buffett had failed to disclose certain Goldman holdings in his personal income tax return “during certain years,” including from 2010 through 2012, on a Form 990. According to the complaint, Mr. Buffett failed to properly disclose “all forms of interest and dividends received from Goldman Sachs, including Goldman Sachs International Holding N.V. (NYSE:GS),” on his 2009 income tax return, on a Form 2106 and his Forms 990 from 2010 through 2011.
The man on a motorcycle hit and killed a woman with multiple skull fractures and left arm severed, but his car went into the river near her body and no one called 911, authorities said Wednesday.
Police said they have a photo of the suspect, but no one is cooperating on the case.
The motorcyclist remains on the run. The woman’s sister, Sandra Storch, said her sister, 43, was visiting family.
“I’m heartbroken,” Storch said. “But she was an incredible lady who just loved life, and I miss her dearly.”
Storch said her sister was an active member of her church. She had volunteered working at a youth center for troubled children, and she was in her third year of a master’s degree at Ohio University as a psychology student, she said.
Storch said the school’s counseling service is coordinating counseling for people who might be affected by the incident.
