I’m a huge fan of a method I’ve worked with myself for years known as Laser Nail Rejuvenation — it’s called this because it uses lasers and a laser to kill any skin cells that are damaged by the previous procedure, but still allow some of the skin to grow. I’m not sure what would be considered “normal” here or how it differs from the method I recommend, but, to me, that’s the best way to get results. (Here’s one more thing I don’t recommend that may or may not work for you.) PicoSure’s laser treatment does a very good job of removing a lot of the dead skin. It’s also the first time I’ve experienced a reaction where the laser’s energy caused tiny cracks or tiny tears in the skin. So, if you’ve never tried that approach, just sit back and let things work their way through your body like a real tattoo removal treatment can work!
How often should I go in for the procedure? This is tricky to answer on its own, and I don’t know how to answer it. There are some good websites that list exactly how many times the procedure should be done, but if you get too much healing time, it may make it harder to get a tattoo. My suggestion would be to do it once in the morning, usually after a morning workout or a morning walk, to allow more healing and a little more time for the skin to grow and grow. Also, I don’t know about you but I’ve had two tattoos a few years ago. I wound up needing several laser treatments the following month, and I wanted to take a while to get the job done, since it takes about 12 weeks for a tattoo to grow in. Since I don’t know what happens between the first two and the final one, maybe it was more to do with nerves than something deeper in the body. You’ll just have to wait and see.
